I have to start with a huge thank you to you all for helping along the way. Although I haven't participated in many discussions, but have followed the constructive advice presented here. Using the collective knowledge on this site and my own background in woodworking, I have constructed my first guitar. It is a dreadnought built with: sitka top, quartersawn spalted sycamore, leapardwood / walnut bindings, rosette and backstrip, ebony bridge, fingerboard and headstock, grover roto tuners, 5- piece neck with interesting and crack saving inlay and french-polish style shellac finish.

Wow... I know where all the flaws are, but I know how to limit those flaws next time. I also learned how to set up the guitar. It plays like a dream. The best part of the whole process is quite accidental. It is hands down one of the best sounding guitars I have ever heard in person. Maybe I need to get out more...

Hey Chris congrats on a great guitar!!!

I really like the head stock inlay too.

And welcome to the club of those of us who were amazed to discover that when comparing a nicely built hand made guitar to the usual suspects at a guitar store the guitar store loses......

Great guitar!!! [:Y:] [clap] [clap] [clap] [clap] [clap]

Chris,
Great first effort, and nice recovery on that neck. So glad we could help you finish this guitar. Can't wait to see what you make next!

Kudos on your first. I love the sycamore. It is so special when it is your own guitar from your own hands, isn't it?

Very nice! And I like the bowties in the back!

Now it can go to all those black tie formals!

You all are too nice. I have a great sounding guitar with ok looks.... (no offense ladies up front) she's like the girl that took you to bed when you didn't remember your name.... she looked great as long as your eyes were closed, um.. errr... or, you had too much that eve! Doh!
Watch out though... now I have a clue! (ie. I know how to illuminate the girl before completion ... so to speak).

Sweet guitar man. I love inlays on the back of the neck, it just makes it soo much sweeter.
