You are so right Waddy. That is where I'm headed. Its too early to cut the grass. And the chances of Ryan remembering to call are going to be slim, even though Sweetie reminded him what today is just yesterday.

My wife and I keep telling our boys, both in their 40's, that Mothers day and Fathers day are just commercial excuses to sell more stuff, and we don't participate. It usually doesn't work, though. Someone always sends something. What a waste. We don't do anything for each other. She's not my Mother, and I'm not her father.

My add here... is that it is only a commercial excuse to buy "stuff" if you buy commercial "stuff". It's not hard (or expensive) to just get a card and make a point to pick up the slack and let mom relax a little on a day named especially for her. I don't think that makes me a sell-out does it?

Absolutely not. Cards are nice, but pick up the phone and call. Say the words, and it's over. If you can let her have the day, so much the better. I think it's nice for grandchildren to make something, which you then have to put in a conspicuous place so they'll see it the next time they come. It makes them very proud.

Thanks!!!! bliss

I woke to Mark having brought me flowers and making me breakfast after his having been in the shop all early morning.
He oft. does things like that, but its sooo nice for us to have days that ensure we bring one another to conscious attention, with our busy schedule. Special days make sure we make the other feel special.
