Hi gang, I have a commission bubbling through the spec stage. he's asking about birdseye maple binding...... anyone suggest a supplier? I don't remember ever seeing it anywhere thanks!! Martin |

At the scale of binding, it will be difficult to get Bird's Eye Maple to reveal its treasure. Me, I wouldn't bother... |

That was my thought, too, but what do I know. Seems like some really curly maple bindings would show off better. |

And if the commission is just in love with birds eye trim, you could offer the alternate of the heel cap. |

It depends on the birds eye. If you can find some densely figured stuff, it could be fine. There is a randomness about it that is a cool look IMO. Attachment: Z2Head.jpg I've used it on headstocks, Tail grafts and heals. Let us know how it turned out. Wade |
