Barry, that is one superb violin, you certainly set a standard for us aspiring violin makers to reach for. Your soundpost looks dark is it spruce? Maybe just shadow.

Mine should be finished in a week or two, just bridge and soundpost to fit and it'll be ready for the Boss. Not sure I'm going to post it after looking at yours though!

I love the depth you cut your channels around the purfling and the shape of your F holes. What species of spruce do you use for the top?
Sure wish you'd give a tutorial on finishing a white violin. From the ground you use to the exact recipe of varnish. How about it?
