Thanks guys One more question for anyone that is working with a hook and loop system on their dum sander. I would assume that heat could be an issue. So I assume that very light cuts are required or am I over thinking the heat issue? |

Tension rollers may need to be adjusted due to the extra thickness. This stuff really sticks to a clean drum so remove the backing on as you unroll. |

I have heard that hook and loop takes away from the accuracy of a thickness sander due to the compressibility. |

Good thought line Barry. but here is a question on that train of though. If the compression is equal why would this be the case? Anyone have experiance or thoughts on this? |

My guess as to where the accuracy would suffer would be in the lower tollerences of the manufacturing process for hook and loop material. I have measured variance of around .002 in non-hook and loop Performax paper. With the compressability issue/possibility I didn't want to be the one to try this out...... but I would be very interested in what results. Any time you can add to drum cooling that is a good thing. |
