My dad and I dabbled in violins in the early 80's. A week or two ago he was cleaning out his basement shop and he stumbled accross a few boxes of stuff we were working on. Some of these molds were extremely old back then. Here is a picture of some of the things I brought home.

I know we have some competely assemble violins somewhere that never got a finish put on them. We also managed to collect about 20 violins of various ages from the 50's back to the late 1700's. At some point I would love to find someone who knows a little somthing about vintage violins to help me go thru the collection. I know there is at least one German Violin that is probably 150 years old and has a glorious tone. (I don't play, but had someone try these out for me one time). And several more from Italy, including some very heavily inlayed ones.

If anyone wants to chat "Violins" with a noviced, let me know. I am facinated with old violins even though I don't play them.
