What do you recomend for sealing a guitar mold? Same for the Fox Bender and the Williams Binding Machine. Thank you! Mike |

I found that sealing the bending machine can cause some issues. The heat and finish doesn't get along very well john I use sanding sealer and lacquer on the molds but shellac will do well |

I am going to tell something I have recently completed doing to all my molds that I really like. Last year I had a run of glue down the side of a rim that was able to get between the mold and rim. I thought I had wiped up in time but missed the fact that it got between the rim and the mold and set up for several days. Well you can imagine the minor grief this caused. ![]() So I have lined the interior of my molds with .005” UHMW tape from McMaster –Carr. It only makes a .010 change to the rim over all or .005” per side but I will not glue another rim to the mold ![]() |
