Nice drill press there K.O.

You'll sure be able to drill some straight hole now!

I've put my stimulus money to good use too. Couple weeks ago I got Jet 10-20 sander and a 6" jointer. I can't wait to make little wood outta big wood!

Thanks Chuck Actually my stimulus $ went elsewhere I put away 20 here 30 there for a while for this.

Todd that is definitely the plan.

Now what I really need is a tutorial on using the Wagner planer. I have been holding off on building till i got this, my small stash of khaya, clear Walnut, Cherry, and figured Maple has been waiting patiently.

So any Wagner users any tips on the finer points on its use? I do know to keep it sharp!
Do you do any thing different when thicknessing birdseye or flamed maple?

Nice score Kirby my friend! [:Y:]

Chuck buddy you have to know that in this place when you indicate that you have a 6" jointer someone is bound to come along with a 12" jointer........

Kerby Wagners are cool and work well. Here are some tips from me for ya.

1) If the drill press table is not big enough, you want as big a table as you can fit to the drill press. Make a bolt on table out of something stable, I made mine out of baltic birch.

2) The Wagner works best if the table is level and the chuck runs true. To level your bolt on table chuck a bent piece of coat hanger in the drill press and adjust the table until the end of it just starts to touch. Rotate the chuck by hand, it's a good idea to unplug the thing too, and you will see where the bolt on table is low and high. Shim it with something, I used tape I think, until it is level for the full rotation of the chuck. BTW this method was posted by my pal Mike Toby.

3) I wish I had a picture for you but perhaps someone else does, I think that Arnt might if I recall correctly - put a stop on one side of the table.

4) Take light passes trying to not hoark off much zoot at one time.

I am sure others will have tips too.

Congrats on the drill press!
