Ok guys.

Take a deep breath and relax.

Imagine a frosty bottle in your right hand.

Smell the tangy BBQ chicken sizzling on the grill.

Someone’s playing a hot Lonnie Johnson lick on your newest masterpiece.

Yes, the Chicago gathering is only a week away now.

If you are seeing this for the first time, there is a bit more detail in my first post on 25/May. I believe I PM’d everyone back with my address who shot me a message expressing interest in attending. If I missed anyone, please send another PM. The current list follows. If your plans have changed and you won’t be able to make it please let me know.

We are also trying to put together some door prizes. Steven Wheeler has offered to bring some Jotoba binding sets and I’m trying to get some wood rosettes together.

See you there.

I'm trying to get Mike Franks to join us as well. He makes a fine traditional Martin-like guitar and I have one nearly completed that I bribed him with. I told him he could pick it up there! laughing6-hehe

I'll be there, Doug. As it turns out, I will be in Wisconsin with my sons. I may have one or two of them with me...they're accomplished guitarists and would love to hang around builders.

I'll bring Kringle from Racine...for those who have never experienced that, you're in for a treat!

Well I can't wait to go.
Hopefully Ed (elysne) will bring a couple of his guitars, they're sweet in case you haven't seen pictures.
I'll have to talk Joe White's ear off. And John Watkins the cnc parts guy.
Is JJ bringing that dog?

Steve

Doug,

Any chance we can do a sign in sheet at the door kind of thing. I would love to have contact names/numbers of those close by me. It would be great to network with the local builders. So I am hoping we can share a list of names of those who attended with contact info if they choose.

BTW: I now have a 50 anniversary to go to on that day as well as a gig that night. But I plan on dropping in for at least an hour or two. So I won't be able to stay and meet everone. Darn!

Thanks again!

Joe

Joe – Hope your bribe works. Tell Mike we’d love for him to attend. Threaten him with a big BBQ sauce thumbprint on the label if he doesn’t cooperate.

JJ – glad you can make it and looking forward to see what you are currently working on. Don’t take no for an answer from your sons. They should feel like kid’s in a candy store with all those hand made guitars to play. Looking forward to sampling Kringle?!?. Errrrr, that’s not something you picked at midnight in the middle of a Wisconsin cow pasture is it?

Ed – I think we have most of the major food groups already covered. You could bring some table snacks if you want – chex mix, honey roasted peanuts, etc. Thanks for offering. And please bring one of your guitars!

John – if you could bring something for the door prize pile, that would be fantasic. I’m sure everyone will also be interested in hearing what new items you are going to be offering once your web site goes live again.

By the way, my little bro who lives in Houston is flying in for the weekend. He’s an excellent cook so there may also be a little tex-mex goodness on the menu.

Looking forward to seeing all of you there. Shake your fist at the sky if you see any dark clouds heading this way.

Joe - a dine and dash is no problem. I'll see if I can get a sign up sheet put together. You do realize though as one of the musician/builders attending that you'll be playing for your dinner <grin>.

I will bring something snackable as well, along with my two most recent guitars--a cutaway flat-top and an archtop.
