I had a rather picky customer who wanted some extremely curly, honey colored, and black striped australian Blackwood. Stephen over at Colonial was a trooper when it came to helping me out, sending me pictures of his entire stock of it and then taking MORE pictures of the set that my customer eventually agreed on. Everybody knows that curly wood, especially in the raw is especially hard to take decent pictures of, so I had to rely on Stephen's word on just how curly this wood was. When it arrived, it met or exceeded my expectations and my customer is as happy as can be It is so curly that it would make Shirley Temple's hair look straight Just wanted to give a good two Thumbs up for Colonial Tonewoods for coming through when the demands are high. |

I can not agree more. Steven at Colonial has exceeded my expectation every time. So Ken, Why don't you post some pix of that curly Aussie. I'm a big aussie blackwood fan. |

Steven Roberson is top-notch in my book. He always has time to talk and discuss what may or may not be in my best interest too even if it means missing a sale. Heck of a guy and his woods have always met or exceeded my expectations as well. |

Thats a pretty set, blackwood can be pretty dark but it is much nicer when its light colored like this set. be sure to post picks when the guitar is finished, Joel. |

That's actually pretty dark for Tassy Blackwood. Most is lighter, and without the great color streaks in this set. This is more reminiscent of Koa. At least the 30+ sets I own are a lot lighter than this, and without the dark contrasting streaks. This set is pretty spectacular... Steve IS top-notch. |
