After reading Ken Franklin's tutorial, I decided to give it a go. I'm still waiting for my Bro-in-Law to bring me my new fly cutter to install the purflings. I will be using Jatoba around the "Saw Blade". I'm open to suggestions for the "Diamonds". The combo of Bloodwood and Wenge looked real cool untill it went in the Redwood top. Now the whole thing seems a bit dark but I'm not sure if I should wrap it light or real dark. |

I like 'em! Especially the saw tooth pattern. Nice work. Steve |

Thanks for the compliments. I think I might take the router to the diamonds and replace it with another that I drew up last night. On guitars 2 and 3 I used the B&S wood for the rosette surrounded by the same wood as the binding. A nice tailored look imo. I've never been a fan of the classical dot style rosettes, but the side grain tiles can look real cool. I've got to say that building these rosettes is a lot esier than designing them. |
