I just saw some beautiful quartersawn Movingui boards at a local hardwood dealer that I'm considering resawing for back and side sets. Anyone ever use this wood or hear it before? It has a sweet tap tone...rings like a bell, and it has a really nice quilted/curly figure to it.

Not for B&S .. but I do have a killer electric top blank from it .. nice yellow colour as well, would burst really easy as the centre is already done for you !!!!

I haven't but I know Bob C had some on his website under "African Satinwood" you could check out.

I have a nice electric top blank as well, mine has birdseye figure.

Might ask Steve @ colonial if he has any more of that.... it`s pretty dense stuff.

Nice tonewood. Tim McKnight loves the stuff.
Here's the curly figure. I have birdseye too.

Yep, Bob is correct, I really do like Movingui. I happened on my first set during the OLF swap Meet last year. The wood is a bit tricky to bend in tight cutaways but no worse than other highly figured woods. It has a wonderful Mahogan-ish tone that is more balanced IMO without the strong midrange hit that Hog has. Mine is closer in color to the first picture posted. The picture that Bob posted was not color balanced correctly (which was my fault).

Nope. It's either Movin' Gooey, or Moveengwee
