I'm having a fly cutter bit ground for installing .060" purfling around my rossette. How much bigger should the cutter be than the purflings?

Steven,
It kind of depends on what glue you planing on using and you line material. If you using CA or epoxy then you'll only need about .002 or so, just enough for a comfortable fit.
- Natural wood or fiber lines will swell up with water based adhesives, as will the channel in the top.
Myself, I'd just do few thousandths and the scrape the lines if I felt I need more room.

Thanks for the info Jim.
I'll be using wood and water based glue. I think I'll make the cutter .063" and scrape the wood to fit as you suggest.

Steve
