Ran across this site today and thought I'd share it with my friends on the OLF (and Hesh too :D )!

Manne Guitars

This guy has a great style and a lot of innovtive ideas! Check out his site, you won't be disappointed!

One of the guitars that I found amusing was the Whiskey Guitar He even uses a odorless oil mixed with whiskey to give it a more authentic ambiance! I don't even drink and I think that's cool!

He makes a whiskey bass too!

Again, check his site he has some good ideas! Angled necks, steel mounted strap post variation...Manne Ideas

The other day my wife asked me to drill some holes in the bottom of an old whiskey barrel that she uses as a flower pot. The smell from the cuttings is quite nice and I let her know that I would be more than happy to drill many more holes if she wishes me too.

You have GOT to donate your brain to science! Like maybe.... tomorrow! :D :D :D

I could of never seens that! Leave it to a Heshs to go downsmarkets! laughing6-hehe

Big John - I didn't really like it at first either, it did look better until the Hesh brain got to it! laughing6-hehe

Rich - I did some work on a fountain that used old whiskey barrels, now that you mention it, it did have a nice smell and pretty strong too!

This Manne guy looks like he puts a lot of thought into what he does, I appreciate that!

Wow... for what little my opinion is worth, maybe we shouldn't laugh at the guy. There was a guitar made from a plank from Muddy Waters' childhood home... there were several guitars made from the pews from the old Ryman auditorium...

I guess I'm just politely asking if maybe we can refrain from laughing off work that is a little out of the mainstream. If I misread the tone of the post, please accept my humble and sincere apologies. oops_sign [uncle]

No need to apologize - I was not laughing at the designer - far from it. Since you asked I was making fun of my own inadequacies....... :D I think that the guitar is pretty cool.

I also appreciate that you want us to be respectful of the work of others - good going [:Y:] [clap] [clap] [clap] Sorry if I offended anyone (again.....).

Hesh, my friend, you have my sincerest apologies. bliss If there are any here who have inadequacies, you are *not* among them. I'm a part of another group that believes if someone says "I don't understand" it's not because he/she is incapable of understanding-- merely this person hasn't been presented with the information yet. That's why I like this forum so much-- there are experts like you, Lance, Brock, and countless others as well as novices such as myself who have all treated me with the same courtesy you exhibit-- no one has said I'm incapable of understanding but have recognized I haven't been presented with the necessary information to understand, either by experience or instruction. Such kindess here never ceases to amaze me.

I followed with great enthusiasm the discussion a while back regarding your black finish on top of a great piece of Lutz (?)-- As great as that instrument has turned out, I feel it is a lesson in humility for us all-- recognizing the whole instrument is greater than the sum of its parts. Who knows if any or how many Les Paul Black Beauties have birdseye or flamed maple hiding underneath? Would any of us dare strip such an instrument to find out? Now *that* would be a tragedy. I only wish I had the chance to play your instrument-- I'd love to hear how such a beautiful guitar sounds!

No need for anybody to apologize! Tastes are subjective! Nobody in their right mind would criticize this guy work, it's just stylized!!

If Hesh get's out of line just do what I do, send him a link to an online Rorhschach test, you won't hear from him for a week. :D :D :D

I think the guitars wood grain looks cool!!
