I am building solid-body electrics and I’d like to know the name of a business that can provide me with custom-made water-slide decals to install under that clear coat (on the headstock). I’m not interested in the ones that ate cut out of thin vinyl with a CNC machine, I think they cost about $10 each. And I don’t think the ones that are made with a standard ink-jet printer will work either because one of the colours is ‘white’.
What I need is the name of a company that makes those decals for plastic model cars and I can ask them if they would be willing to make a few sheets consisting of my logo at a reasonable price.

You might want to spring for a copy of Fine Scale Modeler magazine and check out the classifieds. They probably have a web-site also.

I believe that the way to make them waterproof if you only have ink-jet printing is to take an ink-jet printed original and copy it onto the decal sheet with a color laser printer. Any copying shop can do this. Gold and silver, I gather, require special printing equipment.

You might try "www.best-decals.com" . Looks like they make decals for guitars and a lot of other stuff.

Most towns of of 80k or more will have one or two commercial specialty flag, printing, decal and sign shop. We have 2 here in Odessa. i am sure the same is true in Canada. Water slide decals are often used for warning notices and advertising/promotional things. If possible I had rather deal locally if possible to insure I get what I want.
