OK here comes my first "I dont know if its ok to ask" question. I am to build an SJ as some of you know, back and sides of Black limba. and I will use Macassar ebony for bindings. Bob at RC is out and so is John Hall. so I was wondering if anyone else had some that I could buy. the reason for wanting Maccassar and not plain ebony is that my neck is flanked with Macassar, so my designhead tells me that its a must. :-) duh .

I hope its ok to ask. My mother always told me "you can allways ask! , you cant get more than a NO" Although at times, a black eye. laughing6-hehe laughing6-hehe

You could find a macassar fretboard and cut it up to make bindings if need be, just make sure you get a good match where the pieces meet. Gilmer Wood might also have a thin stick the right length if you dig around on their site.

Hi Bob. Hope all is well with you. !!

I was just on that site, before I checkt in here :-)
they do have some, the only problem with Gilmer wood "for me" is that they are not taking orders below 100USD. I just need bindings for 1 guitar (or 2 ).

Lars.

Thanks for your help my friends. I just had some luck from a friend, who happened to have just a few bindings left of macassar. so I am set.

Again thanks.
