can someone give me an idea, within a reasonable proximity, of what I can expect the main air resonance of an OLF SJ to be , as built according to the plans? .this will be my third ( second solo build) , I am curious now before I begin . thanks Jody

Jody,
Sorry for the slow response. I miss this post for several days. Being the developer of the OLF SJ I have to first tell you that I am a practical builder not a scientific builder and my testing method is pretty primitive. I used a Midi output to generate tones with a speaker about 2" above the sound hole till I got the chamber to become fully sympathetic resonant. I have done this on 9 of my SJs over the past several years. My records of these guitars indicate that the frequency that the chamber becomes most active is between 97.5-100 Hz then again but with less intensity between 780-810 Hz. So with my limit ability to measure scientifically I would say the main air freq in general with be G2 or 98.0 Hz.

Hopefully Allan C will chime in here

hey thanks Micheal! no apologies needed ! I am not very scientific myself. I do understand there are variables of a guitar body that will change the resonance , I am simply looking for a target to shoot at from the begining , your information is very helpfull,I was beginning to think I would need to build one first just to get the frequency laughing6-hehe thanks again ! Jody
