This is a guitar that was made as a tribute to a father who bought my client a couple of really cool old cars. The top is cedar, body is birdseye maple and all the appointments, including the tuner knobs are cocobolo. The two old cars inlayed on the fretboard were done by Larry Robinson. He does incredable work. Panel lines are visible in the body, chrome is made by some marvelous substance, maybe chrome, and they just look great. The guitar body was inspired by a Gibson L-00 but is a little smaller and little different. |

John, Beautiful work as usual. I'm curious about the bridge. What's it made of (cocobolo?)and did you make it or outsource it? |

John: You are an absolute artist, really. That's just spectacular. Every guitar you build just leaps off the photo. I have got to get up there. With the new bike, I have no excuse. Fantastic work. Bill |

Good work, bro! A fitting tribute to your client's father. You're right, that Cocobolo is perfect against the birdseye. And I love that topographic bridge. KBW |

Outstanding, John! The beautiful inlays are just icing on the cake - some very fine icing, to be sure, but the cake itself is gorgeous! My 7 year old daughter says you could call it a "gui-car"! |

Thanks guys! Bill, it would be good to see you, come on down and please bring that bike Todd, that guicar name is clever. I have been practicing on its pronunciation. Like Ringo says, it don't come easy. Craig I appreciate how modest and approachable such an accomplished artists (Larry and yourself) can be. Bro, that topographic bridge comment is brilliant. |

OK, I give in the Kinnairds obviously do have tone fairies working away in their shops at night, producing faultless workmanship with great aesthetics. John, yet again you have produced a stunning guitar, I love the birdseye with the cedar and that cocobolo bridge and appointments really just sets it all off. I am in awe of your work. Colin |

John...I just happened to notice that your headstock doesn't have your familiar logo. Just curious...Any reason why? Also...is this a polyester or polyurethane finish? |

Another stunner! The Kinnards are struttin their stuff these days. And the stuff they're struttin deserves struttin like none I've ever seen. |

Thankee kindly guys JJ that is a polyester finish by Joe White. Joe does great work. As far as the headstock is concerned, that is just one of my options. I probably should settle on one style, but I don't seem to be able to do that. Its a Gibson kind of affliction where I just have too much freedom and go off on tangents. At any rate a lot of the stuff I do is customer driven. Colin, I am glad you think these are tone faries at work and not tone deaf faries. Perhaps it just seems like Steve and I are pumping them out because we have the same last name. |
