Can someone give me a hand? This guitar is a classcial guitar from the 60s, an Espana. Can you identify the wood on the back? thanks |

Plywood? Looks like some species of rosewood, most likely a laminate if it's the Espana Guitars that I'm thinking of. |

yes it looks it might be mad rose, or indian rose wood but that black line and red color is reminisent of madagascan rosewood. but it is probably a laminate take a look on the inside and see if its the same wood as the outside. I doubt very much its rio but you can do the ol, scratch and sniff if its not a laminate (rub the inside with sandpaper and if it smells like bubblegum its probably rio, you cant mistake the smell of rio rosewood).
