Can someone give me a hand? This guitar is a classcial guitar from the 60s, an Espana. Can you identify the wood on the back?

thanks

Plywood?

Looks like some species of rosewood, most likely a laminate if it's the Espana Guitars that I'm thinking of.

yes it looks it might be mad rose, or indian rose wood but that black line and red color is reminisent of madagascan rosewood.

but it is probably a laminate take a look on the inside and see if its the same wood as the outside.

I doubt very much its rio but you can do the ol, scratch and sniff if its not a laminate (rub the inside with sandpaper and if it smells like bubblegum its probably rio, you cant mistake the smell of rio rosewood).

Hope that helps a bit,

Joel.
