Box was pretty crappy, but ALL was well inside. Packing was excellent. General Industrial Supply is a great source! (ebay). That dam sander is HEAVY. Won't get to play with it till I get back from the run... gives me something to look forward to!

When I bought mine, the original owner asked if I wanted help getting it to my truck. I said, "Naw." Picked it up off the table and let out an ever graceful "Gah!" Aren't looks deceiving :)

I got mine today as well - and was also totally surprised by the weight! Mine has the Performax branding, rather than the Jet branding. The only thing I noticed is that the tracking kit guides were not in the box...

I am waitng for my festool 2" hose and connectors to come, then I will try to get this thing going :-)

Heavy is a good word...

I bough mine from Woodcraft back in May(you got a deal by the way). I was home when FedEx dropped if off on the walk in front of the house and when I went outside the driver was walking away with a dolly. He turned around and asked if I wanted him to take it into the house. I said, No, I got this. I'm waving as he drives off into the sunset. I bend over to pick it up and thought I'd die. Well, with neighbors watching and not wanting to look like a whimp, I sucked it up and carried that darn thing in the house. My back still hurts.

I had to do a little setup to get the drum to sand even, but it's not hard to do. Owners manual explains in detail.

Be safe on your run!

laughing6-hehe :D Well this makes me feel better because I always thought that the thing was a bear to move too.....

I bought the Performax/Jet stand for mine about a year after I bought the drum sander. If I recall correctly the wheels are optional and VERY expensive. It would not be difficult to make your own cart on wheels and save some cash too (for gas for the car..... [headinwall] :D ).

Congrats Mike now go knock em dead on the run! [:Y:]

I've got the Ryobi 16/32 (Same as the Steel City 16/32). It weighs in at 175 lbs. I got REAL tired of moving it around, so I built a rolling stand for it. One of the smarter things I've done. Not sure what the 10/20s weigh but I wouldn't want to move one of those around too often, either.

I'd bet it's every bit of 95-100 lbs. The real problem is there's no good handle to latch onto it. In the box it's got to be even worse. I bought mine from Western Tool Supply as a "demo". Someone had bought it and said they couldn't get it set up right. They returned it, so the guys at the store adjusted the tracking and belt tension. I got it for $499. I'm happy as a clam with it so far. :D

Says 103 pounds shipping weight I believe. Got mine two days ago and wouldnt you believe it I had a sore back today. I was blaming it on my mattress until I saw this post and remembered carrying it in and placing it on the floor after trying it out in the backyard (clear-vue cyclone is on its way). Pretty impressed with it so far though.
