I hate to show my ignorance eek but how on earth do you bolt on the fretboard extension? idunno This sounds like an excepted practice... "Total Bolt-On"... Can someone enlighten me?

You use a L shaped neck block. The leg of the L that attaches to the top is mortised and has bolt holes. A tenon block is glued to the bottom of the fretboard extension and has threaded inserts in it. the tenon fits in the mortise of the L previously mentioned. You use shortish caps screws from the underside of the L neck block that thread into the inserts on the tenon block of the fretboard extension. This bolts the fretboard extension to the top just as you bolt the tenon of the neck to the body on a bolt on system.

If you run your truss rod through the headstock it looks like this:

Body mortise (just the fretboard one was done at this point)
