I have a customer who wants a slot head on his 14 fret neck. I notice that a lot of you use slot heads on 12 fret steel strings, but I dont think I have seen slot heads on 14 fretters. Is there a reason for avoiding it or is this an acceptable method and just rarely used?

Your opinions welcome.

Ive done it. Loved the guitar...
Perfectly acceptable, although not terribly common.

come to think of it, I just delivered a 14 fret cutaway short scale (24.9) OM Fingerstylist.
Ken, you might have seen this one in Miami this past spring?

Beautiful guitar Lance! I guess I just havent paid attention. Most of the slot heads I see are 12 fretters. I told the customer that I dont see a problem with it and that I would do it for him. Just wanted to see if I was biting off more than I could chew.

Thanks for the replies!

Ken, I've done it before, and am doing one now.
I like the look quite a bit, and if the guitar is already heavy, this saves a bit of weight. I think Lance's photos should dispel any second thoughts. Nice guitars, Lance!
