Post subject:  pore filler for mahogany ?

I am ready to practice a bit on a peice in prep for doing my dread in progress, what type of filler for mohogany ? I thought about the gg whites , but I read where this caused someones mahogany to get white splotches in it . Jody

I am using epoxy (west) on everything including Mahogany. I think it works well.

Please see my reply post about pore fillers for walnut, posted very near this thread in the main discussion forum. I use the same paste pore filler for mahogany, but I might alter the toning colors a little bit. Walnut and mahogany take fillers in very similar ways, and both can be stunningly enhanced with just a bit of color. Whether I'm working with walnut or mahogany, I always favor a mix of brown and red. I just vary the mixture to my own taste.

I dont realy , want it to look like a martin or gibson other than the basic shape , getting the grain to "pop" would be nice ! are you colorizing the z-poxy?where are you purchasing the z-poxy and colorization ? thanks Jody

A dark oil-based filler like Pore-O-Pac works well and doesn't necessarily look muddy à la Martin and Gibson if no stain is applied, IME.
