Post subject:  Finally Back In The Shop

After the birth of my 5th child (yes, crazy can be used to describe me ... ), I have finally gotten back in the shop after 8 long weeks (well, I did do alot of cleaning, and maximizing my little work space etc, but no progress on my first build).

Today, I was finally able to set-up and test my Performax 10-20 (had a heck of a time getting it level - it was way off after unpacking). I still need to fine tune a little bit, but it was pretty good to take my top down to ~ .130 in prep of the rosette. I also got my rosette piece thicknessed and ready to cut (rosette will be highly figured sycamore, to match the bindings and end wedge (along with EIR B&S)).

I also was able to make a workboard to make the rosette - I am looking forward to using my circle cutter jig.

I have 2 practice tops that are also ready to go - i first work on the practice tops then repeat on my "good" top. Going is slower, but I figure I do everything 2 times at least prior to working the "real" top.

Anyway, not a whole lot of progress, but it felt good to get something done :-)

What did you all get done this weekend?

Thx!

Glenn

Well, not a whole lot, made myself a circle cutting jig(Karol inspired), still waiting for wood to arrive(what you pay for by being cheap and opt for ground shipping)

5 you say wow7-eyes , i've got 1 with another due this month, and i think that's plenty......
