Well it was enough of an experience to know that I like it but I HAVE to slow down! [headinwall]

The ukulele is a kit. I french polished the top back and neck and had a bridge slip so I had to remove it (hot knife and not enough patience) I don't recommend that technique gaah but I did the best I could with the tools at hand and I think I did ok I can do better NOW but that was the best at the time

Zac,
I believe there is one little girl who thinks this is the world’s most perfect ukulele because it was made by her dad. bliss No worries at all. You are right on track with your plans. You said that you purchased these kits to practice and learn from. Looks like you on your way.

Zac,
That is a wonderful gift. I've been thinking of making something for my daughter and your photo just clinched the deal for me. Congrats on finishing your first. I know how great it feels!

Zac, all you might see is warts. All she sees is a cool uke that her daddy made just for her, just the way she wanted it. She will treasure that memory for the rest of her life. Good for you.

Zac

I agree with the others, you have an amazing example of Lutherie work. Its impressive too that you used the french polish method of finishing on most of the surfaces - many seasoned veterans don't even do that! Keep up the good work my friend! I'm looking forward to seeing more of your ukes in the future.

Nice! I love the Pink sides too! My 15 daughter saw my archtop that I am building and said "that would be cool with a glitter sparkle top"! Ouch, thank goodness I didn't use the figured top I was going to. Hmmmm goldtop archtop like the old ES 295. That might be an idea!

Cheers! And get started on the next one dude!

Thanks Everyone bliss I had a lot of fun and I started number 2 tonight its the solid mahogany kit and after that I am going to tackle a scratch build I have found a local luthier who has offered to help me out and he has the tools that make it a little less daunting to try a scratch build. After this one before I start the scratch build I plan on practicing some on scrap especially necks ( I wanna try that v joint  ) The french polish was actually pretty fun and the egg pore filler was a gas no stink AND cheap! [:Y:] I have an agreement with the wife so the only time I have to go outside is sanding...this winter it will be cold brrrr -20 sawdust! [headinwall] Even stole a little bit of the kitchen for my work area :)
