Hi,

I am working on a 1974 Martin D-18. It's one of the Martins from that era that has the bridge located in the wrong place, so the bridge needs to be moved. While I am at it, I'd like to install a bridge with 2-1/4" string spacing.

I really don't feel like making a bridge right now. Can anyone tell me where I can get an oversize rosewood Martin-style bridge with 2-'1/4 inch string spacing?

Thanks,

Jim

Stewmac sells oversized martin bridges but they maintain the 2 1/8" string spacing. Just curious but have proofed out that the existing neck taper works with 2 1/4" spacing? You are likly going to have to make from a blank to get tha spacing on Martin style unless one of the CNC guys will make one for you.

That D-18's neck is made for the 2-1/8". Unless you want the strings close to the edge.

I'll have to measure for myself on the string spacing. I was told that 2-1/4" is a better fit than the stock 2-1/8" spacing. I'll check it out before I do anything.

Thanks for the help.

Jim
