Well, I finally strung this one up after months of hard work and lots of difficulties. Thanks for all of the help you guys have given me (both directly through my posts and indirectly from reading all of the other posts). I would also like to say a special thank you to MichaelP who really helped me when I had problems with the French Polish. 'THANK YOU' Michael - the finish isn't perfect but would've been a lot worse without your guidance. The guitar woods are: Engleman Spruce Claro Walnut B&S Koa bindings/rosette/inlay Brown Herringbone purfling (I love this) Ebony fretboard/bridge/headplate For the first time, I even put a Walnut veneer on the back of the headstock after reading how to do it on this site. Feel free to comment - Good or Bad, I would like to know either way. Thanks Mat |

It certainly looks great to me. It all goes together well, and it looks like a guitar. How does it sound? Congratulations on finishing up. |

Thanks Waddy/Michael. So how does she sound.........mmmmm....dunno really. Well obviously she sounds 'beautiful' but apart from that I dunno. The one thing I can do nowadays is get a good action so she plays well. The one thing I have never done is tried to 'voice' a guitar (whatever the hell that means) so she sounds, I guess, like a standard constructed guitar, which isn't that bad really. I don't really play the guitar very well. I can strum good - could've been a 'rocker' but this guitar is definitely for finger picking. I normally get a friend to play for me and then I can hear what it sounds like from an audience point of view but he hasn't seen it yet. She sounds sweet to me though, very mellow - probably doesn't 'ring' as much as I might like but again, trhat's probably because I can't play!! Cheers |

Mat she looks great! I really like the combo of walnut with koa bindings and I am going to remember that it looks as good as yours does. Great job on the finishing too. You should be very, very proud my friend. |

She's a beaut, Mat. Great work! Where would we be without Michael, Hesh, and all the other veteran builders at this site. Be very proud, sir. Ken |

Thanks for your kind comments guys. Ken - I have read all of the guitar building books but NOTHING compares to the advice given on this site. |
