Just brought some pretty good spring clamps from Lidl of all place(a budget store in UK).
I have tried various kinds over the years and compared with the others they look really good.
On top of that they are made of aluminium and price at £1.99 for 4.
I'm don't usually have much praise for Lidl ,in fact much of the stuff in my opinion is rubbish but this time I'ts well worth having a look. Give the food a miss though!

Another dude from the UK!! Welcome!! Please tell us more about yourself. :)

I have a large collection of those metal clamps you write of, but at my local varieties of pound shops, I have found six packets of these £1 a packet are sufficient for the job as well;

Comes in tens, and are brilliant!!

Hello Sam,
Yes another UK'er ,though I've been on this forum sometime. I'm down in St Leonards on sea have been building mostly steel string acoustics about 25 years.
I'm bogged down with repairs at the moment and still waiting to spray 2 OM's.
Plus waiting to repair my workshop roof when this weather dies down! Cheers Rick

Hey sam,
i use the same ones from the pound store in holloway but i still love my good old fashioned clothes pegs you cant go wrong and you get the wooden ones for 1 pound (dang finish keyboard wheres that pound sign!!!!) for a pack of 25.
i find they give just enough clamping pressure and i use the alumonium ones and the plastic ones every 6" or so just to be on the safe side.

Joel.
