There are heaps of factors that will affect this. How much you've thinned the product, the temperature and humidity. Air flow, Speed of the solvent and spray technique. I live in the tropics with high humidity and temperatures in the high 20's to mid 30's C. I spray out doors with good air flow. I use slow thinners and thin product to a 50 / 50 mix. I've also been a professional spray painter for 30 years, so my technique is better than most. I let each coat flash off for minimum 1/2 hour before applying the next one. If it ends up being longer it really doesn't matter. I also let the instrument hang in a very well ventilated area for 1 week before sanding back and applying my second set of coats. At least one more week of drying before rubbing back and buffing. |
