All mastergrade got the german-spruce from germanspruce.com and the bearclaw sitka from alaskaspecialtywoods and the photos the bearclaw does not do it justice. its AMAZING !!. the german is light as a feather and the taptone of both species are great "in my ears" cant wait to start building !!! :D

Here are some shots of my Tops. I would say, the colour is a lot whiter than on the photos, the photo where the top is hangin, shows the best colouration.

I love looking round people's workshops. A pal of mine has a large shed kitted out as a workshop and has bought a little freestanding woodburning unit/stove that I am very jealous about....your luthiery space is really nice too.

If I were you, plan to have a worktable right by that window there; great for "candling" those joints and inspecting work. Hard to tell from the pics but lighting could potentially be a problem.

I have a full spectrum lighting in my shop during the night shift so that I don't get any nastly surprises the next day when sunlight is pouring in... (sorry, I mean natural greylight...haven't seen the sun for a fortnight!!)

Exciting stuff...my shop was a junk/utility room for many years until one day I opened my eyes and saw it as a workshop...no looking back!

Please post pics of the shop when you're done...I expect to see wood shavings everywhere, chisels & handtools gracing the walls...

:D :D I will do my best to keep the floor dirty. . Ill post more photos as I get the bandsaw in etc etc. Great suggestion about the window, well, actually I think that would be great, Its in the basement, so the window is in hight of my head as I am standing ! so for "candle checking" its perfekt I think.

Wow, that's messy? Lars........, I would love if my house were that clean. I live alone and didn't inherit the gene that makes a person want to clean house. I'd rather eat a green bug than clean the house. Course I don't host parties either. I have two bathrooms in my house and one is quite large, so I thought it would be a nice place to put my workshop.

Btw, that is some nice looking spruce you have there hanging in the closet...lol......now if you want me to clean that up for you just ship it my way and I'll take care of it.

Just kidding....I hope you have an OUTSTANDING day Lars ol' buddy.

You are right Lars, I also didn't mean that in a sexist way. I just meant that I hate to clean house.

I apologize with all my heart if i offended any men on here that love to clean. oops_sign

I better stop while I'm ahead [uncle]

Btw, did I mention you have some nice looking spruce hanging in your closet?............
