I know Paul doesn't post here anymore but I hope he still lurks. And I would REALLY like to see him post here again.

I just read an interview on GUITAR GALA where they named him Builder of the Month. This couldn't happen to a nicer guy and I'm so pleased that he's getting such recognition. Check it out here http://guitargala.com/2008/09/featured/paul-woolson

Paul is his worst critic and never touts himself...he just works hard with uncompromising standards and makes fantastic guitars. At a time when there is too much self-promotion IMO, it's refreshing to see the accolades come from an objective and unbiased source. He could just as easily received this honor years ago.

In addition, as a builder he has shared so much with our forum and it's nice to see that Karma has a way of finally rewarding such people.

[clap] [clap] [clap] [clap] [clap] RESPECT [clap] [clap] [clap] [clap] [clap] [clap]

Congratulations to Paul! He has really broken out into getting his good work acknowledged.

Questions:

Does this show what one can achieve by leaving the OLF?

What is Guitar Gala?

What I like in the piece is the way he presents things. Paul has a way of explaining and responding that is very much his own and original. It's easy to cut and paste the phrases we all know and use, but he makes it sound new.

I like the way he explains the double top. It's the first time I've actually had an idea about what's going on with those and why they're a step forward as opposed to just being different.

Howard...there's probably some truth to this. Since he no longer visits the OLF he has spent more time in his shop, at shows and actively marketing his wares. I see him on the AGF where the players are getting an opportunity to get to know him better.
