I'm ready to brace a red spruce top and i was using red spruce bracewood, but i messed up the X brace and all I have to use now is sitka bracewood. Would it be the wrong thing to do if I used the sitka on a red spruce top?

Thanks, Steve

That's what was used on the 30's Martins(source-John Arnold) and they don't have too bad a reputation. The guitar I'm building has a red spruce top and sitka braces.
