So I was just curious as to why exactly we round down our back braces and center strip... Aside from the added weight, what would happen if one were to not sand the back braces round and just leave them with squared corners?

Just for clarification, I'm not referring to sloping the edges, but I'm talking about how we round the corners.

Well besides weight shap corners create stess risers, Points were stress that is constraind in the brace will focus. Now the major thing that this will cause in the case of the back braces is to create a path of falure that a crack in the brace can form
