I used to do it very similar to that Robbie. However, I recently acquired one of Luthier Tools jigs, and would never go back. My advice to anyone who wants to build more than a couple of slotheads, classical or steel string, is get one of Chris' jigs. Not cheap, but worth every penny of the price.

Ditto here on Chris' Slothead jig. I've used this jig for 4 years on many slotheads...much simpler and virtually fool proof!

One of my faviorite purchased jigs of all time!

I have used Chris's binding cutter base for the PC router but haven't had the opportunity of using his tuner hole and slotting jig yet.
