And she sings! Long time coming, but I've had her strung up a couple of days ago. Carried this new little OM to a bluegrass jam last night and she had no trouble being heard in the mix. I think she's a winner! The Englemann top started opening up a little after just a couple of hours of serious playing. Got lots of interest and, of course, more folks wanting to talk about commissions.

Sorry for the lousy pics. It's way late and I've gotta get to bed. Starting a long stretch of 7-12's in the morning, so I'll be out of pocket a bit. Hopefully, I can get some sound clips in a couple of weeks before I deliver it to GA.

Looks great! The koa looks really nice. Is the saddle not angled? I can't really tell from the photos. Post those clips when you get them!

Thanks, Burton. No Koa on this one, all curly maple bindings on EIRW. And, yes, the saddle is angled and fully compensated. Intonation is spot on! [:Y:]

I see where the saddle question came from though. Maybe the whole bridge got angled a touch? Hmmm....yeah, I meant for that to happen....you know.....so the saddle would be uniform with the bridge....yep! [:Y:]

The saddle slot was cut after the bridge was on the guitar. The bridge was placed with my homemade "Saddle-matic" rig, which has worked great before. I'll have to check it out now. Ah, well, still plays and looks purty good to me.

BTW, the saddle was cut with my version of Stew-Mac's saddle routing jig, too. The plexi construction is really nice for this. I actually think mine came out better than had I dropped $150 to buy one. Simpler, yet with more adjustability. To be posted next time we have a post on one (although not nearly as cool as David or Todd's). I'll try to get some pics.

Thanks, guys. Arnt, I haven't put in the "PMTE" yet. I want to play it in for about three weeks then put it in to see if I notice a change. Trying to decide - I made a spruce brace for it, but it seems like Mario started using hardwoods instead? I'm thinking about making one to match from African Blackwood (which, BTW, is also what the bridge, fingerboard, and headstock overlay are).
