Anyone have a good setup for safety-planer? I like it alot, but it really spits out the wood. I have a semi vacume system set up, but it still spits out, it may need a covering devise or something. Anyone have a great design they want to share??? ![]() I am looking a a coffee can that surronds it and leaves some space, with some type of flexible skirt, rubber of a sort, with vacume attachment, mounted to the side. |

The problem with that is that you really need to see what it is doing. Everything I have tried failed miserably. |

Hmmm, and what have you tried? ![]() The problem is that as soon as it hits center, it starts throwing out chips. So it needs to be fully encircled. For minimal thicknessing, I just add pieces of thin, slick cardstock and keep the press in place. |

I hang a shower curtain around the drill press and then step in and do the work. The chips hit the curtain and fall to the floor. Much easier to clean up. All I need now is soap on a rope. |

Barry, pretty cool! But doesn't the vinyl do a static electricity thing with the dust? If only it would ALL stick..... |

I think the brushthing might work, but it would only cover 180 degrees, or less. Where do you get the round hanger for a shower curtain? |

Ok, I think I designed a better working, fairly simple setup, as long as the wood is thin, and not too wide...Ill try to post some pics when I get it done.. ![]() |
