They be selling for $25 a set.

Yo, Paddy, Me advice for you... forget dis "tuners" business. Here was me suggest you do... Go in fancy new shop you has. Turn on some tunes. Take threaded maple dowel. Unleash your mojo. I have been an electric-guitars-assembled-out-of-spare-parts tinkerer for about 19 years and am well acquianted with the wilkinson tremolo and tuner products for electric gtrs. they are a good value, similar to the grover statite 18:1 $30 kinda thang. but I haven't used these. I'd also really like to hear about how they compare to grovers or gotohs, if anybody knows. |

For $25 they'd be worth trying. Are these the ones found here?http://store.guitarfetish.com/18wiopba3x3w.html I have no experience with them. But I used thesehttp://store.guitarfetish.com/chsusmgost14.html on a strat build. They work just fine. Tune and hold their tune well. While I would not use them on a build for someone else, they work fine for me, and I'll use them again. The ones you're talking about I would not hesitate to try. I know I'll probably get a lot of guff for this, but this is my view/experience when it comes to tuners: Most any decent tuners will work just fine, as long as the strings are installed correctly and stretched correctly. Most of what you pay for with more expensive brands is smoothness of gearing and brand name. While there's a lot to be said for smooth tuning and the security of a well known brand, there are alternatives that will work just as well. My .02. |

Yo, the Edward, country man, friend, buddie pal Me has sometimes made me own tuners...see me Sympatar build. http://www.luthiercom.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=96&t=431&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=25 Me even took a 2 inch chisel, ground a dedicated profile for pegs. But But But, the time and the effort just ain't worth it and me bet you didn't know this part (which me found out the hard way) Maple makes lousy tuner pegs. Maple does not sand after 250 grit...it polishes! So as pegs, the dang wood wants to slip real gooder it does. Gotta figure in the price of a reamer and peg sharpener, thats gonne be about 50 ~ 60 bottles of Labbat blue. Box wood and ebony and black African and IRW are the best and well are kinda expensive, considering we can gets pegs ready made in India for about a $1 a peace in them woods. No, no lathe work making stinkin little peggs. Not for Duh Padma But thanks for the suggestion. Duh Padma |

I've not used the ones you pictured, but I have used these Wilkinson replacements for the vintage Kludsons: http://store.guitarfetish.com/wiklstnitusi.html They work fine: no slop, burrs, or sticky spots Fit and finish is not on the level of the Grover and Gotoh open back machines I normally use, but they looked great on the guitar they went on -a nicer finish would have looked out of place. -jd |
