I've starting my first multiscale guitar and I'm fixing to design the bracing layout. Now, I just wanted to check with all you experts out there to make sure there were no hidden pitfalls I may run into. I feel confident in my abilities to tackle the project, but I wanted to ask a couple of quick questions. First of all, am I right in saying that I need to first locate my saddle/bridge position, and make sure the X-brace arms run under the wings of the bridge? And I assume to do this that I'll need to twist or shift the X-braces to accomplish this, correct?

If anyone wants to know, the guitar is a 00 size with a engelmann top with 24.5" and 25.4" scales.

Yes and not necessarily. It depends on the position and angle of the X braces in your original plan for "uniscale".

My first one was built around a ready braced guitar-bouzouki top that developed a small crack in the lower bout area:



This one is Grand Concert size:



This one is around Martin O size:



These all had 630-660mm scales (24.8"-26") - yours is less extreme. All three had the same X brace angle and position of the single scale version.

Thanks for the replies! Pictures are definitely very helpful. So I got everything drawn up and I'll begin bracing this afternoon. I'm pretty excited about this one! Thanks again.
