I bought the plexiglass patterns for the OLF Medium Jumbo, and I'm starting
that for my next guitar build. What are the depths of the body at neck
and bottom? TIA

Hey, my plans say 4 3/4 inch at the tail and 4 1/4 inch at the neck. This is final thickness including top and back plates.
Cheers
Dom

Dom,
Thanks for the reply. I had tried scaling the numbers off some internet drawings,
knowing the scale length, but I'm more happy to know the real numbers. [:Y:] [:Y:]

Just so you know, you can make it what ever depth you want ;)

Rod,
I agree, I've made some small "0" sized guitars with 4"+ depths. They have]
amazing bass for a small body- the increased volume really counts. But since
this is my first MJ, I want to stick close to the base design, so I can see how
that compares to my OM's- I've built 6 of those...

I am new here as a member but have been lurking for years, so please pardon me for saying this but isn’t the MJ plan an OLF plan set that is retailed by Stewmac? It is my understanding that sales of the OLF plans goes to financially support this forum. You are saying that you tried to get this information for free by scale info off of an image of the plans shown somewhere on the internet! Then posted the fact that you did so, on the very forum that the sales of such plans help support! Why not buy the plans rather than trying to get the info without paying.

Please do not take this wrong. We all get info for free all over the net. And sharing free info is a great thing. But this info is not offered up for free. I am not calling anyone a thief or anything like that but geez the plans are less than $30 and you are going to spend 10 times that in material you say you want to follow the design . It just makes no sense to me to be a member of a forum that wants to build a guitar based on plans that are retailed to help support the same forum yet not willing to pay for the plans.

Sorry
