This client liked my first figured redwood/bubinga/baritone that he simply said - make one just like that. What could I say? This is a double top with lutz under the redwood. Features include Koa bindings, radial bubinga purfling, my first carbon reinforced neck and a mini radiused armrest. Anyone like that bubinga? ![]() This shot shows the lutz under the redwood top. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Neil Gardiner wrote: ......How was the Bubinga to work with? Neil, Tight bends are a problem. It is pretty tough to make that cutaway. Sanding bubinga is always difficult. Like Tim McKnight says - like sanding concrete. |

Very, very nice. Love that quilting. Mike Edit: Some people say golf is a frustrating sport... even more so because occasionally, everything comes together in a moment, unexpectedly... the swing is perfect, the contact is perfect, and the flight is of the ball is perfect. And, at that moment, you find yourself committed once again to play on with renewed enthusiasm. Its not the ball or the clubs, its you and what is occasionally in you (or at least, what occasionally comes out of you) that makes it work. That guitar is the SAME thing. |

Wow Steve, that turned out GREAT! That is one of the first guitars I have seen finished with one of those highly figured bubinga sets. I bet it sounds awesome as well! Thanks Shane |

Thanks Shane I should have mention that the bubinga set was from Shane. I believe he has more. Do not try tight bends with this wood. Thanks Shane! |

This is the greatest compliment - ever. Thank you! I'll try to get a sound clip posted. I am really pleased with the tone of this guitar. |

Not bad, not bad, but what on earth are you going to do now............. Joking aside, really nice work and spectacular woods. Thanks for sharing. Well, I suppose, back to my plain Hog and Englemann OLF SJ, number five! |
