Does anyone know where I could buy a set of Dalbergia Oliveri - Vietnamese Rosewood or possibly have a set to sell or trade?

I appreciate your help.

You might want to check with Bob Cefalu. He had some gorgeous Dalbergia cochinshinensis (aka Flamewood) recently, which comes from the same region. Some of the pretties t rosewoods around IMO.

I'm not familiar with that species, but if you can't get any through normal channels perhaps Andy DePaule could get some. I suspect he has connections in Vietnam beyond his inlay people.

Folks, thank you for the information. I have a customer who owns several of my guitars and has commissioned me to build him a guitar which commemorates the Viet Nam conflict as well as the peace that exists between the countries now. He wants as much of the guitar's content as possible to originate in the 2 countries. I have confirmed the availability of the suggested tonewoods from both Uncle Bob and LMI and appreciate the help. Our good Uncle promised to hook me up with a spectacular set of Flamewood.

Glad to hear you found what you need, Mike. I think you're going to like Bob's Flamewood...I have some sets and they are gorgeous and ring like a bell. [:Y:]

I was thinking of doing the same thing only with the cold war.
