This was a custom piece, hand picked by the customer's mother. Her son is about to come home from boot camp in the Marine Corps, and he's a guitar player. She picked out the medallions for the Marines and Freemasons that are epoxied to the shoulders, the dog tag inlaid into the headstock, and I did the cross with the thorns on the back because they are christians. The bridge is rosewood, bound in maple (and b/w/b), and seated on a padauk slab. The back plate has a maple inlay for the cross, and the thorn vine with the three leaves for the trinity were done with a wood burning tool. His mom nearly passed out when she saw the guitar, and her son will have a nice instrument to bring with him to wherever Uncle Sam sends him, and wherever America needs him. |
