I just saw this on a site I have purchased from before. I think I will pick some of this up for my bender. What do you all think of the price? Seems good to me.

Mike, the 0.030" thickness seems like a bit much. I've been using 0.010" and 0.012" stainless slats, solid not perforated like this stock.

That is a good point... I will check my current slats tonight. But, 0.03" (the thinnest they offer) really does not seem that thick (in my mind).

Mike: Get out your set of feeler gagues and bend the .025 feeler.

Perhaps my mind is stronger than my hand? :P

I had tried a perforated slat and found that it let marks on the wood . What happens is the wood swells as it doesn't dry evenly and left raised areas that were a pain to sand out .I have used the solid slats for over 10 years. CF Martin also uses a solid slats as do PRS .

John, I do not understand. You are not saying you could see the perforation pattern, right? Just that the perforated slats tended to allow uneven drying?

I have had nothing but success with the stuff I use now. Perhaps not a good idea to fix something that is not broken.

I am interested to see what the bending methodology is there as I am sure some people use it with success . Perferated slats are costlier than solid ones and is the cost / benefit there ? Last year by loss ratio was about .006% Martin uses a hot bending method and soak sides for about 1 minute and bend at 450 degrees . The process is over in 6 - 8 minutes and they do not use a cool down cycle . I bent 500 sets and lost 3 sides.
