How long will a prepared batch of shellac last in a covered jar? If I mix up a batch and use a bit of it, will it still be good in two or three weeks?

Thanks!

2-3 wks...YES. It will. I've been working with (flake) shellac for years, and I use the 6 month rule.

If it will dry hard on a piece of glass it's OK to use. I've used prepared shellac over a year old. Works great.

It should last 6 months, quite easily. Lots of variables including the freshness of the flakes, the type of shellac and the wax content.
