Does anyone know where a good video or pictorial tutorial of how to construct a Ryan Bevel exists. I believe both Conerstone and Mustapick Guitars utilize this method. ( I am talking about the non fluted bevel) Thank you, Ray |

Hi Raymond, There are some articles online somewhere. Search for "Bevel Tutorial" on the OLF and you will likely find them. I believe Tony Karol and Matt Mustapick have made a tutorial and those are the ones you will want to be looking for. I personally approached the bevel very differently from how Matt does his which just means there are loads of different ways to build one. Like Matt, I am after a Ryan-styled bevel. To be perfectly blunt, in order to pull off a good bevel you need to have your building skills down. For example, if you would have trouble expertly binding a Florentine cutaway with full mitres, then I would strongly suggest waiting a while before you tackle an armrest as they are much harder. I figured out how to do the bevel on my own and in my opinion, it is a fairly obvious thing to do once you get going but there are some nuances to it. Feel free to give me a call if you want but it will need to be on my landline (since you are international). And so you would need to contact me at info@fayguitars.com and we can schedule a time to talk. If for nothing else, I can point you in the right direction. However, try and find those tutorials first so you are familiar with the process. Best Regards, Simon |
