Unless you are going to be doing a lot of guitars in a short period of time, I would probably recommend just getting one gallon at a time. Just guessing, but I would think you might get 6 to 8 per gallon.

Just one gallon. Make sure you put like a half a cup aside in a jar with a lid. Leave the lid off for a few days so that it thickens up considerably. Then keep lid on. Use for drop fills.

Yup. Depends on how many coats you spray or problems you run into, but a quart should do you for a couple bodies.
