| Post subject: | How to clean ebony off my buffing wheel? |
Ok, not a smart move on my end. I buffed an older, used, fret board after dressing the frets without CLEANING the fretboard and now my buffing wheel is black.  How would you clean the buffing wheel? PS. I think the brush is meant to clean off compound buildup. Clinton

An old hacksaw blade works pretty well. It shortens the life of the wheel, though. |

I gotta agree with Tony. I even made a little slide-out buffer to use just for ebony fittings........very handy. |

I agree with Tony and Dave.....but if I had a dirty buffing wheel I wanted clean I'd wash in a washing machine. I haven't done it, but I believe it would work. |

Dang, this was a newer wheel. ![[headinwall]](./images/smilies/headbangwalluf8.gif "Mad") I guess I'll make it my "dirty wheel" and lesson learned. I bought this from Grizzly and really liked it. Any other suggestions for a supplier? Clinton

The washing machine works great that's how i'd clean it...be sure to run it with your wife's fine linens, she'll love you for it.
