Many of us are members, or were when I last had access to a membership list (I used to be Director of ASIA). John Hall is a Board member and, from his posts, will be at the Symposium.

I was a charter member, but let my membership lapse back in the mid 90's.
As I remember, it was a great organization.

Sean,

Welcome to ASIA! I am a member as are quite a few others here. I will be going to the Symposium, and hope you will too. That is the best way to interact with the members. Here is a link with some of the other OLF members going to the symposium.

I've been a member since ASIA began in 1985 and will also be at Symposium............a fun event and I think very valuable if you are at the point of honing your skills and gathering information and contacts in terms of suppliers and other makers.
The Saturday night benefit auction is worth the price of admission alone.
Overall this organization is run by and filled with very nice and friendly people.

Great organization, wonderful people and I'm a presenter this year!
Actually my thinking has always been; in this field there are so few large
gatherings where knowledge is so freely exchanged by people on all
skill levels that it seems silly not to attend.
Hope to see you all there!
Best

Sadly, I won't be able to make it this year. I was planning to, but I have to have 3 guitars done between now and the end of June for GFA, so something had to give. I chose to display at GFA for it's focus on classical guitars.

I'll be there! 2nd time. 2nd time taking photographs for ASIA/Guitarmaker. Thursday I am teaching Photo 101 and Photo 102.
How to photograph guitars properly. Also, I'll set up an area where you can take properly lit photo's of whatever guitars you have along.

Its a wonderful time!

John,
I saw mention of your photo workshop and it's one that I'm looking forward to. Hopefully you'll be presenting at least some insight into getting photos with minimal equipment. I have lights, backdrops, umbrellas, etc., but none of it seems to work well for me in the digital age. Truthfully, I don't think I've taken a decent instrument photo since I stopped using film, and I've had a bunch of digital cameras.

Hey John, what makes the auction so spectacular? What should I be saving my money for?

Thanks
