Post subject:  refinishing top

I have a BR 30 blueridge guitar which as cracked behind the bridge,I am new here and at present attempting my frist guitar.I would like to refinish the top and deal with the crack somehow.Is this advisable.Also any idea how old this guitar would be.thanks for any info

Normally you don't need to refinish a top just to repair a crack. If the crack extends up to the bridge you will need to remove it. But typically if you seal the crack properly you just need to clean up the area and maybe wet sand and buff it out.
